A simple 12-string guitar tuner designed to assist in tuning your instrument according to the standard eEaAdDgGBBEE 12-string guitar tuning.

Tuning a guitar can present a challenge, especially for beginners. However, with practice, it becomes easier. Well-tuned guitars enhance the quality of your music and aid you in mastering finger placement for notes.

A 12-string guitar comprises 6 pairs of 2 strings each. The thicker string within each pair is tuned to the same note and octave as a standard 6-string guitar. The thinner string in pairs 3-6 is tuned one octave higher than its partner. The first two pairs share notes of the same octave, with each string in a pair meant to harmonize. This tuning is known as eEaAdDgGBBEE, where lowercase letters indicate strings tuned one octave higher than their counterparts.

To tune a specific string, select the corresponding note and adjust the tuning pegs until the played note matches.

It’s advisable to make multiple tuning passes for each string. Due to varying tension levels and possible body deformation, retuning may be necessary to ensure all strings are in harmony.

The 12-string guitar tuner can also be utilized for standard 6-string guitars. The only distinction is that a 6-string guitar is tuned to EADGBE, corresponding to the right section of this tuner.
